ESD+RFIC Co-DesignAn IEEE EDS Distinguished LectureAlbert Wang, PhD, Fellow-IEEEProfessor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, U California-Riverside (USA)13 de maio de 2011, sexta-feira, 15h00Local: auditório do CTI Renato Archer, Campinas-SPHaverá transmissão pela Internet (sistema "streamming")ABSTRACTRecently, ESD protection design emerges as a grand challenge to RF IC designs. While RF ICs typically demand for more robust ESD protection, RF circuits are also extremely sensitive to any parasitic effects inherently associated with ESD protection structures. Hence, ESD protection will inevitably affects RF IC performance. This lecture discusses critical aspects in practical designs, including a mixed-mode ESD simulation-design method for RF ESD protection design optimization and prediction, accurate RF ESD design characterization, complex ESD-circuit interactions, ESD-RFIC co-design technique for whole-chip design optimization, etc. Real-world ESD-aware RF IC design examples will be presented.BIOGRAPHYAlbert Wang received the BSEE degree from the Tsinghua University, China, and the PhD EE degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985 and 1996, respectively. From 1995 to 1998, he was with National Semiconductor Corporation, USA. From 1998 to 2007, He was a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology, USA. Since 2007, He has been a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director for the Laboratory for Integrated Circuits and Systems at the University of California. His research interests focus on Analog/Mixed-Signal/RF ICs, Design-for-Reliability, IC CAD and Modelling, SoC, Nano Devices and Circuits, etc. Wang received the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation in 2002. He is the author for the book “On-Chip ESD Protection for Integrated Circuits” (Kluwer, 2002) and 160+ peer-reviewed papers in the field, and holds several U.S. patents. Wang is Editor for the IEEE Electron Device Letters and Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II. He was Guest Editor for IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I and Guest Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices. He has been an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer for the Electron Devices Society and the Solid-State Circuits Society. He is Vice President for IEEE Electron Devices Society. He is committee member for the SIA International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductor (ITRS), the IEEE EDS VLSI Technology and Circuits Committee and the IEEE CAS Analog Signal Processing Technical Committee (ASPTC). He has been serving various committees for numerous IEEE conferences, including IEDM, CICC, RFIC, etc. He is an IEEE Fellow and AAAS Fellow.ACESSO À TRANSMISSÃO PELA INTERNET1) No dia do evento a transmissão estará disponível pelo endereço mms://200.144.112.26/namitec(entre no windows media player, clique em arquivo - abrir URL e digitar o endereço citado).2) Durante o evento, questões ao palestrante e feedback sobre qualidade da apresentação poderão ser enviados por email para
